Susan, a visionary designer, was immersed in a world of artistic brilliance from an early age, Surrounded by artistic talents like Bernard and David Leach, Henry Moore and Graham Sutherland, Susan nurtured her innate talent for design. Her innate talent for shape, form, and pattern blossomed, leading her to create ceramic gifts for the shop at Portmeirion Village.
Upon marrying Euan Cooper-Willis, the couple assumed stewardship of Sir Clough Williams-Ellis’ souvenir shop, igniting their entrepreneurial spirit. In 1960, Portmeirion Pottery was born, debuting iconic designs like Malachite (1960) and Moss Agate (1961).
