Westland Landscape Bark is perfect for creating low maintenance beds & borders. It reduces the need for frequent weeding and therefore the amount of time spent on weeding. It can also be used to create rustic natural looking pathways through woodland and large borders. Additionally, the bark is produced from responsible conifer plantations which are grown for the timber industry and are certified by the Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC®)

Westland Landscape Bark is a specially selected grade of screened large bark chips (**approximately 30-50mm – size can vary) that can be used on flower beds and borders, trees and fruit bushes. It is an exceptional decorative ground cover mulch providing excellent weed suppression, moisture retention and thermal protection for plant roots.

What to Expect
This product is made from organic matter, an odour when opening the pack or applying is normal
Water thoroughly after application. Keep the lawn well watered for at least 2 weeks to help grass seed germination
After 7 days the lawn will become greener and healthier
The grass seed will germinate to fill gaps and help create a lusher, thicker lawn. As the grass becomes stronger it will start to out-compete weed & moss
How to Use
Existing beds & borders
Prepare the border by removing all weeds and debris. Spread a layer of bark 2.5-5 cm deep over the area ensuring that the mulch reaches under the plant canopy and covers the root area.
New beds & borders
Prepare the area by removing all weeds and debris. Spread a layer of bark 2.5-5 cm deep over the area.
Top Tip: For best results, laying a perforated plastic or fabric membrane under the bark mulch is advisable to further reduce
weed problems where perennial weeds occur. Cut an X shaped hole in the membrane and plant shrubs and flowers into planting hole underneath the membrane. Spread the bark chips back under the plant canopy to cover the membrane.
Aftercare for beds & borders
Remove any annual weeds as they appear. To maintain a good mulch layer replenish the area with fresh bark annually.
For use under fruit trees & fruit bushes
Prepare the area under fruit trees and fruit bushes by removing all weeds and grass. Spread a layer of bark 2.5-5 cm deep over the area right up the to tree and bush trunks.
For use on pathways
Prepare the pathway by removing all weeds and debris. Spread a layer of bark 5 cm deep over the path
Aftercare for pathways
Remove any annual weeds as they appear. To maintain a good bark layer replenish the area with fresh bark annually.
