One of Britain’s most celebrated designers of the second half of the twentieth century Susan Williams-Ellis was born on the 6th June 1918 to Sir Clough Williams-Ellis, the architect and creator of Portmeirion Village in North Wales. Upon marrying Euan Cooper-Willis, the couple assumed stewardship of Sir Clough Williams-Ellis’ souvenir shop, igniting their entrepreneurial spirit. In 1960, Portmeirion Pottery was born, debuting iconic designs like Malachite (1960) and Moss Agate (1961).
